IRCTC(Indian Railway Catering and Touring Cooperation Limited) is an e-ticketing website made for online booking of tickets. Around 1.2L tatkal transaction, is done daily. Now a day’s a new way of booking tatkal tickets are coming up.
In which you can make payment within 14 days after booking of the tatkal ticket. There is a new rule which provides online e-ticket booking with new facilities to pay for Tatkal tickets.
Earlier these facilities were only available for paying for non-Tatkal tickets but now they have been extended to Tatkal tickets. Booking tatkal ticket was very difficult through the site due to lots transaction made in a particular time. So now by extending this facility it a relief for the passengers but they have to pay more to avail this facility. And the booked tatkal ticket in IRCTC is non-refunded.
IRCTC has introduced new facilities for payment of e-tickets, including Tatkal tickets: e-Paylater (powered by Arthashastra Fintech Pvt Ltd) and Pay-On-Delivery (Powered by Anduril Technologies.These options enable to book tickets first and pay later.
These options enable to book tickets first and pay later. While making payment for e-tickets, you have to choose ePaylater/Pay-On-Delivery option.
For example, after filling up the form and coming to the payment option you have to choose in the e-pay later option, you will get the payment link through email and SMS on making your booking. If you are availing the e-pay later option, it asks you to register first.
You get up to 14 days to make the payment. Basically, e-PayLater pays for you whenever you book a ticket. And you have to pay 3.50 % as surcharges, plus applicable taxes. Now it’s upon you how to use this facility and get your ticket confirmed.
